I'm Matt Moore, a third generation electrician and dad to an amazing kid with exceptional needs. His needs are what brought me to the Gainesville area in late 2018 after spending 16 years down in Ocala and 6 years in rural Alaska. I love being outside enjoying the natural beauty of north Florida. You can often catch me at any one of our State Parks, or enjoying the area's live outdoor music scene.
I've passed both of the State of Florida electrical contractor exams (Code and Business) and my application for an EC license is in process.
I'm looking forward to networking with community and trade leaders in Gainesville, Alachua, High Springs, and Newberry to determine what electrical needs exist in Alachua County, and how my background could best fill those gaps.
Until 2018 I owned Matt Moore Electric LLC, a fully licensed and insured electrical contracting company located in rural Alaska.
I still hold a State of Alaska Unlimited Commercial Electrical Administrator license, and also hold a State of West Virginia Master Electrician license as they might by useful. But my roots are now solidly in Gainesville.
I've run an 8-figure industrial project, some 7-figure commercial / healthcare projects, and have extensive experience in the arc flash industry. I've also wired over 150 new construction single family homes up to 5500 sq. ft., some restaurants, and some smaller multi-family units.
On the troubleshooting & repair side, I'm no stranger to replacing services, replacing panels, doing residential / commercial / healthcare remodels, troubleshooting motor controls, or installing VFD's.
I'm establishing Evermore Electrical Services LLC to provide for my son's long-term future. My personal life is stable again now that my son's health journey is stable, so it's the right time to jump back into business ownership.
If you're a contractor, property manager, or maintenance manager in the Gainesville / Alachua County area who has electrical needs I'd like to network with you. I'd like to meet the people and teams involved in construction, maintenance, and engineering for the area and learn what the market is like here for all facets of the electrical industry.

Designed and installed the motor controls and 480V power system for an automated ice production and delivery facility.
Included a 1600A service, 300HP and 150HP ammonia compressors, and solid-state motor controls to automate the ice production process with its bulk storage & leveling, plus delivery of shaved ice utilizing a 75HP blower to commercial fishing vessels on a dock.
I did the design, and I supervised up to 3 other electricians plus myself on the installation.
Greater Charlotte, NC Area
Completed the collection of data for the arc flash evaluation of 50 medical facilities in the Charlotte area. This included a Level 1 trauma center & research campus with over 2 million square feet, 12 MW of onsite backup power generation, and 66 transfer switches.
Collecting data for this arc flash evaluation required a thorough understanding of complex electrical systems to ensure that there were zero power losses to their operating rooms or multiple ICU’s.
To collect data, panel covers were removed to expose energized equipment while wearing the proper PPE. This project also required the collection of data from MV relays.
This project included multiple sets of double-ended 4000A 480V switchgear at the trauma center, and on the low end included 400A 208V 3-phase services at some of the accessory structures.
Akutan, AK
Installed an 800A 480V distribution panel and a 400A motor control center, plus motor controls and instrumentation for a fish oil processing plant.
Also fabricated covered stainless steel cable tray from scratch to use for installing some motors and VDS’s in a surimi R&D lab.
Additionally, replaced some 150HP pump VFD’s, replaced several hundred feet of GRC that had rusted out with PVC, and ran about 4000’ of optical fiber in a loop between three points (terminated by others)
Naknek, AK
Managed up to 12 electricians constructing a fish meal production plant from the ground up.
Included a 3000A 480V service, a 3000A ATS, a 2500 KW 480V generator, and setting a 2500 KVA pad mounted transformer.
Included installation of (3) 1200A motor control centers and 70+ motors from fractional to 500HP.
Also included running motor control and instrumentation circuits to a PLC cabinet (terminated by others). Used GRC up to 4” and miles of armored VFD cable.
Dillingham, AK
As a self-employed, fully licensed and insured contractor working in rural Alaska I didn't do any super large industrial jobs; mostly I did small commercial and residential work.
I had a service contract with the local hospital. The hospital had two generators (500KW 480V and 300KW 208V) and multiple buildings on their campus with services at 480V and 208V 3-phase. Besides repair work, I made upgrades to their fresh water plant, indoor & outdoor lighting, and medical oxygen generator.
